PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> • MINUTES OF DECEMBER 6, 1982 <br /> 1MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The Personnel Board met as follows: Caroline Gilligan, Curtis Woodbury and David <br /> Hardy. <br /> Acting Chairperson Gilligan called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Capital Program Committee <br /> A Board Secretary is needed for the Capital Program Committee. The positron has <br /> been posted within all departments. The closing date for all applications to be <br /> in is December 17. To date, one applicant has applied for the position; that be- <br /> ing, Amy Mosley. <br /> The secretary reminded the Board members that a recommendation for the Public <br /> Works Board Secretary has not been made. Curtis asked that the matter be tabled <br /> until next meeting. <br /> Appointment of Acting Building Inspector <br /> The Selectmen,at their meeting of December 1, appointed. Robert Watson as Acting, <br /> Building Inspector during the three to four month absence of Harold Collins. The- <br /> Personnel Board wondered why they were not contacted on this situation as the <br /> position falls under the P.A.P. Since there is no application on file for Mr. <br /> Watson, the secretary was asked to have him file one with the Town. The secretary <br /> • advised that Board that she sent a memo to the Selectmen asking them what salary <br /> would be paid to Mr. Watson. Caroline commented that she thought that the Assistant <br /> Building Inspector, James Fitzgerald, was appointed for the purpose of filling in <br /> when Mr. Collins was out. <br /> Doctor's Certificate <br /> A doctor's certificate for Oliver Pocknett was reviewed by the Board. Curtis re- <br /> quested the secretary to call Dr. Reimer's office to verify the certificate. Mr. <br /> Pocknett is currently back to work as of December 2. <br /> Educational Course Request <br /> Chief Priestly requested approval to take a seventeen-week course for EMT certifi- <br /> cation at the Cape Cod Community College during the spring semester. The cost of <br /> the course will be $325. Acting Chairperson Gilligan signed the form approving <br /> Chief Priestly to take the course. All members present were in agreement. <br /> Request for Verification of Employment <br /> The Sentry Bank has requested that the employment of Leonore Anderson be verified. <br /> All the proper information was filled out by the secretary. A release signature <br /> was obtained from Mrs. Anderson. Acting Chairperson Gilligan signed the form. <br /> Violation of M.P.D. Rules and Regulations <br /> A copy of a memo to Ronald Bevacqua from Chief Frye was received regarding a viola- <br /> tion of Section 4-18 of M.P.D. Rules and Regulations. This correspondence will be <br /> made part of Sergeant Bevacqua's personnel file. <br /> • Dog Officer/Natural Resource Officer <br /> The secretary brought the Board up to date on the reference checks of two of the <br /> applicants for the Dog Officer/Natural Resource Officer position. Christopher <br /> Williams received a favorable review from, his present employer and David Fitzgerald <br /> did not receive a good recommendation from the Town of Milford.
