Personnel Board Meeting <br /> Minutes of November 15, 1982 Page 3 <br /> • Meeting with Library Trustees, cont. <br /> Bob asked if a person would have to live in the town to be Librarian? Toni <br /> Robertson replied "no, but should have knowledge of the town". <br /> Curtis asked about the notifying of the Board of Library Commissioners of the <br /> vacancy and asked what their cut-off date would be for the advertising? Toni <br /> Robertson said that it would be the same as the Personnel Board's cut-off date <br /> and requested a copy of the advertisement. <br /> Manuel asked what would happen if no one was hired by January 1 indicating that <br /> there isn't a whole lot of time. Toni Robertson replied that she hoped Gloria <br /> would stay until they found a replacement. <br /> Bob referred to item #13 on the job description: "Performs any other duties as <br /> may be required" and asked what were the other duties? Gloria said that other <br /> duties may include making coffee, taking out trash, shoveling snow when the <br /> Highway Department hasn't, cleaning the "john", etc. <br /> Manuel asked that they give a definition of the word "Professional". Toni <br /> Robertson said that some one who has a background in the Library Science Field. <br /> Bob asked if the Board of Library Commissioners serve as a reference? Toni <br /> Robertson said that they wouldn't and that it would be up to the Trustees to check <br /> references. <br /> • Gloria mentioned that the position currently pays $6.24 an hour but said that she <br /> felt it should pay $8 an hour. She said that the person hired should have a <br /> course in administration and an entry course in accounting. <br /> Curtis asked how many volumes the. Library had? Gloria commented that they current= <br /> ly ha%e 15,000 volumes print on print. Dave commented that he felt there should be <br /> a branch at the Middle School. Toni Robertson said that they have one. Gloria <br /> commented that the school is closed for 16 weeks of the year and that after 2:30 <br /> each day, no one can use it.. <br /> Meeting adjourned with the Trustees. <br /> Pay and Classification Study <br /> A proposal for a pay and classification study dated October 26, from the Ma. Muni- <br /> cipal Association was received for the Personnel Board's records and will be kept <br /> on file for review by the .members. <br /> Budget Guidelines <br /> The Board was notified that another meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, November 17, <br /> at 8:00 with the Finance Committee to discuss budget guidelines. Curtis indicated <br /> that he might not be able to make the meeting. The secretary said that it conflicted <br /> with another meeting which she must attend. <br /> - <br /> Assistance by Town Accountant and Assistant Town Accountant <br /> In a letter dated November 9, 1982, the Executive Secretary complimented the Town <br /> • Accountant and Assistant Town Accountant on their promptness in completing material <br /> used by the Town in a State Labor Relations Commission Case in which the Town was <br /> successful in its agrument before the Commission. <br /> Iii <br />
