Personnel Board Meeting <br /> November 8, 1982 Page 2 <br /> • Raising Funds <br /> Manuel Glickman asked if different departments could conduct a fund raising for <br /> various items needed in that particular department. He stepped out of the meet- <br /> ing to discuss the question with the Executive Secretary. The Executive Secretary <br /> advised him that it could be done in conjunction with an outside sponsor; for <br /> example, the Library -- the sponsor being, Friends of the Library. <br /> Clerical Contract <br /> The Massachusetts Municipal Association has been awarded ther..taskcof classifying the <br /> positions whicn fall under the clerical contract plus doing a pay plan study. The <br /> cost of doing such a proposal will cost the town $3,900. <br /> Bloodmobile <br /> The Board members were informed that a Bloodmobile will be conducted on November 26 <br /> at the Town Hall from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. <br /> Christmas Party <br /> A Christmas party will be held at the Daniel Webster Inn on Tuesday, December 21, <br /> with a cocktail hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and dinner being served after 6:00 p.m. <br /> Surplus Vehicles <br /> In a memo dated November 5, 1982 from the Executive Secretary, he is advising all <br /> departments that the town has available surplus vehicles which will be disposed of <br /> through auction if no departments are interested in acquiring these vehicles. <br /> • Recreation Aide <br /> The Board of Selectmen deferred making a decision until their November 10 meeting <br /> regarding the request of the Personnel Board and Recreation Director to fill the <br /> position of Recreation Aide. <br /> Salary Administration Plan <br /> The Board was made aware that .a copy of the Salary Administration Plan which was in <br /> effect in 1970 is available for their review. This information was sent for the <br /> Board's information by Sel. B. Jean Thomas. <br /> Muni-Class <br /> Manuel Glickman brought in a Muni-Class manual which contains job titles and defini- <br /> tions which have been approved by the Civil Service Commission. He asked the secre- <br /> tary to make copies of the jobs which are in line with the positions under the P.A.P. <br /> Comparison of Statistical Information <br /> ,Dave Hardy brought in a,copy of the Cape Towns Government Comparison which was com- <br /> piled by the Town of Yarmouth. A copy will be made for each Board member to review. <br /> Application Form <br /> Manuel Glickman brought in an application form for the Board's review and asked the <br /> secretary to make a copy for. each Board member. <br /> New Contracts <br /> • The Board has received the new contract for the Fire Department, Highway Department <br /> and Clerical Union. Curtis Woodbury asked if the contract for the Fire Chief was re- <br /> ceived. The secretary informed him that to date it has not come over. <br /> it <br />
