Personnel Board Meeting November 8, 1982 Page 2 • Raising Funds Manuel Glickman asked if different departments could conduct a fund raising for various items needed in that particular department. He stepped out of the meet- ing to discuss the question with the Executive Secretary. The Executive Secretary advised him that it could be done in conjunction with an outside sponsor; for example, the Library -- the sponsor being, Friends of the Library. Clerical Contract The Massachusetts Municipal Association has been awarded ther..taskcof classifying the positions whicn fall under the clerical contract plus doing a pay plan study. The cost of doing such a proposal will cost the town $3,900. Bloodmobile The Board members were informed that a Bloodmobile will be conducted on November 26 at the Town Hall from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Christmas Party A Christmas party will be held at the Daniel Webster Inn on Tuesday, December 21, with a cocktail hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and dinner being served after 6:00 p.m. Surplus Vehicles In a memo dated November 5, 1982 from the Executive Secretary, he is advising all departments that the town has available surplus vehicles which will be disposed of through auction if no departments are interested in acquiring these vehicles. • Recreation Aide The Board of Selectmen deferred making a decision until their November 10 meeting regarding the request of the Personnel Board and Recreation Director to fill the position of Recreation Aide. Salary Administration Plan The Board was made aware that .a copy of the Salary Administration Plan which was in effect in 1970 is available for their review. This information was sent for the Board's information by Sel. B. Jean Thomas. Muni-Class Manuel Glickman brought in a Muni-Class manual which contains job titles and defini- tions which have been approved by the Civil Service Commission. He asked the secre- tary to make copies of the jobs which are in line with the positions under the P.A.P. Comparison of Statistical Information ,Dave Hardy brought in a,copy of the Cape Towns Government Comparison which was com- piled by the Town of Yarmouth. A copy will be made for each Board member to review. Application Form Manuel Glickman brought in an application form for the Board's review and asked the secretary to make a copy for. each Board member. New Contracts • The Board has received the new contract for the Fire Department, Highway Department and Clerical Union. Curtis Woodbury asked if the contract for the Fire Chief was re- ceived. The secretary informed him that to date it has not come over. it
