Personnel Board <br /> Minutes of August 30, 1982 Page 2 <br /> • Complimentary Letter <br /> A letter from Mr. J. Blake Thaxter complimenting Maurice Cooper on a job well done <br /> was read into the minutes. Bob asked the secretary to send Sgt. Cooper a letter <br /> telling him that the Board appreciates the caring and follow through when assigned <br /> to a case and that they feel he is doing justice for the town. Bob also asked that <br /> a letter be sent to the Department stating that the Board is proud of the entire <br /> Police Department for their accomplishments and their professional manner in which <br /> they represent the town. <br /> Accidental Disability Claim <br /> A letter from the Barnstable County Retirement Association dated August 25 regarding <br /> Geraldine M. Dzialo was read into the minutes. The accidental disability application <br /> of Geraldine Dzialo, a Mashpee maintenance worker, was denied on the basis of the <br /> majority medical panel findings claiming that disability has not been determined to be <br /> permanent. <br /> Police Department Vacation Carry-over <br /> A copy of a letter to the Executive Secretary dated August 23 from Attorney Gilman, was <br /> read into the minutes. Attorney Gilman is suggesting that on a no precedent basis, an <br /> exception could be made to allow vacation carry-over for employees with less than three <br /> years of service. A document will be drawn up by Attorney Gilman for the Selectmen and <br /> the Police Association to sign. - <br /> Walking Trails <br /> The Recreation Department is seeking contributions to build a fitness walking trail. Any <br /> • donations should be received by September 15. <br /> The next Personnel Board meeting was scheduled for September 13.
