Personnel Board Meeting August 23, 1982 Page 5 • Caroline stated that she has not seen any changes and that the Personnel Board has never operated any differently than they do now. Selectman Garland mentioned that he had never seen the proposed draft of the P.A.P. but suggested that the Personnel Board make changes in which they see fit. The meeting with the Selectmen and the Executive Secretary adjourned at this point. Selectwoman Thomas suggested that the Personnel Board send their recommendations over again for the Dog Officer position and if they wanted to re-recommend Mr. Fitzgerald it was up to them. The Personnel Board voted unanimously to strongly re-recommend hiring Mr. Fitzgerald and asked the secretary to send a memo to the Board of Selectmen. Minutes of August 2, 1982 Curtis made a motion to accept the minutes of the Personnel Board's meeting of August 2. Caroline seconded the motion. Dismissal of Nathan White A. memo dated August 18. from_Burley Green regarding the dismissal of Nathan White was read into the minutes. No grievance has been filed with the town to date. Request to Transfer Employee Another memo dated August 16 requesting to transfer Martin Hendricks from a full- time temporary maintenance status to a full-time salaried laborer to fulfill the position held by Nathan White was read into the minutes. The Personnel Board voted not to make a decision at this time until the new Superintendent of Streets, when hired, has had time to review the matter and make recommendations. Gate Attendant Wendy Rubin informed the Board that Ray Martini, Sr., Gate Attendant, left two weeks early in the season to take a vacation. Wendy said that she would not recommend Mr. Martini for a job in the future with the Recreation Department. She requested that the Personnel Board hire Helen Johnson to fill in for the remainder of the season. The Board approved this hiring. Review of P.A.P. The Board voted to table the discussion on the P.A.P. until after Labor Day. • The members of the Board were reminded that interviews would be scheduled for Superin- tendent of Streets and Board Secretary to the Charter Commission at their next meeting. Bob requested that the time of the meeting be moved up to 6:00 p.m.
