B. New Business <br />I. Nominations and elections of officers for 94/95. -Linda Young made a motion <br />to elect Elisa Meunier as Chair Person. Maureen Paxton seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />Linda Young made a motion to elect Maureen Paxton as Vice Chair Perso: <br />Elisa seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Maureen Paxton made a motion to elect Linda Young as Secretary. <br />MaryAnne seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />2. Youth Commission - The next meeting will be held at the Recreation Building on <br />June 28, at 7:00 PM. "There is one opening on the Youth Commission as Muriel <br />Smith had to drop out. Bob Govoni came in for an interview. Morgan <br />Peters and Morita Stone who works at Mashpee Village are interested. Basically <br />the Youth Commission is looking at bus transportation and a Youth Center. <br />3. Summer gmgE= Update - People are coming in to register for the programs <br />now. Swim lessons are filling. Bids get one free session of lessons. We have a <br />program called Mom and Me and that is for the toddlers and parent. <br />4. Kids Safe Summer - Jim did an excellent job putting together the many <br />exhibits. However, so many other activities were taking place on the cape. <br />V. Other - <br />Gus told the committee that he put in for a grant from Barnstable County <br />Substance Abuse Commission for tobacco money for up to $2,500. This would be for <br />video and posters for information to help combat tobacco use. Gus put in for a total of <br />$959.75, as the total amount was for all areas. We were awarded this grant. <br />A brief discussion took place regarding the name Leisure Service and possibly <br />changing the name. <br />Gus discussed the revolving account and said it was up to $93,000. Started the <br />year with an opening balance of $11,818 and now 12,686 as of the end of May. We are <br />up about $600. <br />Vl. Adjournment <br />Elisa made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Maureen Paxton seconded. Motion carried <br />Meeting closed at 9:15 PM. <br />The next meeting will be held at the Town Hall on July 5, 1994, at 7:00 PM. <br />
