LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Terrie Cook <br />Pat Riley <br />I. OPENING OF MEETING - Sheila Arnold opened the meeting at 6:38 PM in the <br />Teachers' Lounge in Mashpee High School. <br />II. MINUTES - Linda Young made motion to approve the Minutes of the Meeting of <br />January and February. Pat Riley seconded. Motion carried. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS - Gus said that 95% of activities are running smoothly. <br />Gus will be meeting with principals once a month on the last Tuesday of each month. If <br />additional time is needed, Gus will call Louise Doyle or Bob Tippo to schedule time 1/2 <br />hour before the regular meeting. <br />Louise Doyle has a two-month program running (March and April) from 2:30-3:30. <br />Children could go into the gym to wait until next program begins. Gus is concerned about <br />the use of Mashpee High School charges that are occurring from the cleaning company. <br />Gus reviewed bills from "As You Like If. Gus feels charges are high. Terrie Cook <br />agreed Another situation occurred when Mike Pietrowski sent a Facility Request for a <br />Saturday event on March 1st Then we received another for March 8. We called Mike to <br />see if there was a change. He indicated that March 1 had been canceled. Cleaning staff still <br />showed up. Who is responsible for canceling cleaning staff? <br />Gus mentioned that we are trying to address overlap of time from one program to <br />the other. We are looking at operating KKAS program at Quashnet. This will give us a <br />site at each school <br />Gus went over a Memo from Dr. DeMoura regarding summer food program. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS <br />1. Calendar - A short discussion on the calendar procedure and who received <br />copies took place. <br />2. Operating Budget - Fiscal Year 1998 - Gus explained the department would be <br />level funded. Salaries for staff have gone through. Recommendation for picking up a part- <br />time individual was taken out. We will be documenting all of our increased services to <br />show we have more responsibilities. <br />3. Rec. Plan - There was a meeting last week to go over information. Next meeting <br />will be March 18 at 4:30 at the Town Hall. <br />4. "Friends of - 501C3 - Gus will contact Robert Mills to file papers. Gus will <br />give update.
