Present: <br />LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 9, 1997 <br />HALL HALL <br />Absent: <br />Also Present: <br />Sheila Arnold Ken Marsters Gus Frederick <br />Kim Whitney Pat Antonellis <br />Linda Young Joleen Shultzabarger <br />Terrie Cook <br />Pat Riley <br />I. OPENING OF MEETING - Sheila Arnold opened the meeting at 6:43 PM in the <br />Town Hall meeting room. <br />II. MINUTES - Linda Young made a motion to approve the Minutes of the Meeting of <br />April 9, 1997. Kim Whitney seconded. Motion carried. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS - Gus passed out communications book which is passed <br />around in the office to keep aware of correspondence that is going in and out of our office. <br />A discussion on beach superinendent making final decision on whether he would be <br />coming back this summer. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS <br />1. Spring Programs - Spring programs have been passed out. <br />2. MashMe School Usage - Gus met with Terri Cook and the principals to go over <br />summer building usage. Gus passed out a letter he brought over with him to the meeting <br />indicating summer usage. This included Dot Cash, Circle of Caring, and camps. Gus met <br />with Sandra Feeley. She will be having summer school for 7 - 12 grades at the High <br />School. Also some elementary remedial classes will be run at the K. C. Coombs School. <br />Sandra Feeley will only be running remedial programs such as math and reading. <br />In Addition, Summer Institute will run the last two weeks of July and the first two <br />weeks of August. The last two weeks of August our camps will be using the Industrial <br />Arts Room. We may run a computer camp and Theater Arts program. <br />Rob Miceli will not be returning this year to do our tennis program. We will need <br />to look for a new instructor. <br />3. Review Recreation Plan -Subcommittee -Kim Whitney said that the five key <br />component areas have been finalized. Met last week and will meet again on April 17 at <br />4:30 PM. Gus compiled information and passed out sheets. <br />4."Friends of Status" - Gus had no new information to report. <br />5. dial Events - Daffodil Days - April 26 and 27 at the Commons. <br />Approximately 20 organizations will take part in the Health & Safety Fair (May 3). A bike <br />rodeo will also take place. <br />6. Finances - Operating and Revolving - Gus went over expenses explaining that <br />the department is trying to get a rec program to do finances. <br />
