MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING
JUNE 8, 1993
MASHPEE TOWN HALL
• Attending: Merry Sue Ahlgren, Joe Polito, Janice Mills, Bill Martiros,
Robert Mills, Bill Jones, Tom Fudala, Nancy Caffyn, Greg Taylor, Paul
Griffin, Peter Dinizio, Stephen Greelish (late)
The meeting was brought to order at 4:02 p.m. The minutes of June 1,
1993 were read and accepted.
Arrangements were made to meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9th
at Mashpee Town Hall for those interested in visiting Wareham High
School. ,
Architectural Selection Criteria
Paul Griffin and Bill Jones prepared a simplified RFP review matrix
with columns for firms name, response of tender, schedule, in-house sub
contractor staffing and school experience and an information sheet
explaining that rating will be based on a number system and a
description of the rating columns. Mr. Jones explained that this will
allow a quick scan of all the responses across the spreadsheet and that
the Committee would be better able to narrow proposals down to 3-5.
• Appraisers
Mr. Mills suggested two names as possible appraisers: Martin
Coleman and Associates has the topographics and could also testify in
court as an expert in land damage cases and James Toner of Falmouth
also has the topographics and could testify as well_ Both individuals are
submitting curriculum vitae to Mr. Mills and he will present them to the
Committee at the next meeting. Mr. Fudala also suggested, again, Paul
O'Leary. Mr_ O'Leary has done work for the Town and Mr. Fudala said
that he had information on file regarding Mr. O'Leary. Mr_ Mills estimated
that $10,000 would cover the cost of the legal expenses in the title
search.
Mr. Mills explained that the value of the properties would be affected
by the state of the title and that a cloudy title would have no value. A
taking by Eminent Domain clears the title.
Mr. Greelish also will have information by the next meeting on the two
appraisers he would be suggesting.
II _ -
