JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE Page 2 <br /> MINUTES <br /> • TUESDAY JUNE 22 , 1993 <br /> DISCUSSION OF ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING FIRMS: <br /> *Mr. Fudala indicated that all four of the proposals as <br /> received from Strekalovksy & Hoit , DRA, Mount Vernon and Gale do <br /> not portray topographical information to be used for the design <br /> of the project . <br /> Bill Jones conducted research on the Mount Vernon Group for <br /> consideration. On the basis of past performance, Mr. Jones does <br /> not recommend interviewing this firm. <br /> Greg Taylor agreed . Mount Vernon did not sense the need to <br /> include a consultant for traffic related issues . The other three <br /> firms under consideration included consultants . The site <br /> evaluation must be accurate noted Mr. Taylor. <br /> Mr. Martiros reviewed Strekalovsky & Hoit. Both references <br /> were pleased with this firm. They have proved to be creatative <br /> and have produced accurate project estimations. <br /> Mr. Taylor noted that Strekalovsky and Hoit presented the <br /> strongest proposal for land use management assessment. He is <br /> familiar with the BSC Group that was selected by Strekalovsky for <br /> land resource management. <br /> • With regards to the Educational Consultant selected by <br /> Strekalovsky, Mrs . Mills indicated that Mr. Calabro is well <br /> educated and competent to serve Mashpee ' s needs . <br /> Mr. Martiros added that Strekalovsky is noted to interact <br /> well with building committee' s. As the committee is aware, <br /> Strekalovsky is completing the addition to the Middle School <br /> related Mr. Dinizio. Technically, the firm is highly skilled and <br /> competent . The Middle School addition is outstanding. <br /> 4 : 50 p.m. Daland & O 'Leary: Paul V. O 'Leary: <br /> Mr. O 'Leary was present to discuss the appraisal portion of <br /> the site selection process. He cautioned the committee members <br /> to do the project in the correct manner. For this reason, <br /> Mr. O 'Leary indicated that the appraisal process takes time . <br /> Mr. O'Leary gave a brief overview of his past experience. <br /> He indicated that he is qualified as an expert witness in Federal <br /> Court. He has been an attorney since 1979 . <br /> Mr. O 'Leary indicated that he is familiar with the two sites <br /> under consideration. He has discussed the proposal with <br /> Mr. Fudala and has reviewed the Assessor ' s plan. <br /> • <br />
