MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING_ <br /> MAY 20, 1993 <br /> • MASHPEE T OWN HALL <br /> Attending the first meeting of the High School Building <br /> Committee were Members Merry Sue Ahlgren, Bili Jones, Peter <br /> Dinizio, Janice Mills, Stephen Greelish and Linda Murtha, Ex- <br /> Officio Member Bili Hauck and Support Person Tom Fudala. <br /> Alternates attending were Bill Martiros and Joe Polito. <br /> Absent from the meeting were Member Robert Mills, Alternate <br /> Paul Griffin, and Ex-Officio Members Greg Taylor and Elias <br /> McQuaid. All Members, Ex-Officio Members and Alternates <br /> present were sworn into office by Mrs. Jane Labute. <br /> Meeting, was called to order at 4:05 p.m. Selectman <br /> James Vaccaro, on behalf of the Board of Selectmen, thanked <br /> the members for their willingness to serve on the committee <br /> and gave each member a copy of Building Committee Guidelines <br /> as developed by the Selectmen in 1990. <br /> • Mr. Vaccaro explained that Mr. Hauck, Mr. McQuaid and <br /> Mr. Taylor would act as ex-officio members of the committee <br /> and that Mr. Fudala would be called upon as a support person. Fie <br /> also mentioned that Mr. Polito was considered alternate *1 , Mr. <br /> Martiros alternate ¢2 and Mr. Griffin alternate -�3. Nancy Caffyn <br /> will be the building committee's liasion and lead person with <br /> the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Vaccaro reminded the committee of <br /> the Open Meeting Law and Mr. Jones suggested all members read <br /> the League of Women Voters handout on that subject. Mr. <br /> Vaccaro urged the Committee to keep the lines of communication <br /> open with the Board of Selectmen and that the Committee was <br /> serving as an adjunct of the Selectmen. <br /> Mr. Jones moved that the Committee vote at the next <br /> meeting on the election of a chair:, Merry Sue Ahlgren seconded <br /> the motion. Mr. Greelish suggested that each member be <br /> prepared to present a little background on themselves so as to <br /> introduce themselves to the rest of the committee. <br /> r <br /> Mr. Martiros asked what the alternates position was on <br /> the Committee. Mr. Dinizio, acting as temporary chair, <br /> responded that the alternate participates on the committee but <br /> does not vote unless one of the regular members is absent. <br />
