MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> JULY 6 , 1993 <br /> MASHPEE, TOWN HALL <br /> Present: Paul Griffin, Merry Sue Ahlgren, Peter Dinizio, Linda <br /> Murtha, Bill Jones, Steve Greelish, Janice Mills, Tom Fudala, Bob <br /> Whritenour, Executive Secretary, Selectmen Nancy Caffyn <br /> Absent: Joe Polito, Bill Martiros, Bob Mills <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman Dinizio at 4: 12 p.m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Paul Griffin made a motion to accept the minutes of June 29 , 1993 <br /> as amended. Bill Jones seconded the motion. All Board members <br /> were in favor 6-0. <br /> UPDATE ON APPRAISERS <br /> Chairman Dinizio explained that Bob Mills, subcommittee chairman <br /> is working on this but is not present at this meeting to give an <br /> • update. Two firms have submitted a joint proposal . <br /> OPENING OF DRA BID FOR SITE SELECTION STUDY <br /> Chairman Dinizio told the Committee he invited Executive <br /> Secretary Bob Whritenour for the bid opening. The Committee <br /> discussed with him the process for moving forward. He explained <br /> the Board of Selectmen must award the contract and 'a letter of <br /> intent should come from the Selectmen. This Committee must <br /> arrange, as soon as possible, a meeting with the Selectmen to <br /> give them the results of the interviews, ask them to back up this <br /> Committee's recommendation and then go forward with a letter of <br /> intent and a contract. This is the strategy he recommends. <br /> Selectmen Caffyn explained they are holding a meeting for <br /> interviews on Thursday (July 8th) from 5-7 : 30 but could possibly <br /> meet with this Committee at 4: 30. Bob Whritenour quickly posted <br /> the 4: 30 meeting between the Selectmen and this Committee. <br /> The Selectmen ' s next regularly scheduled meeting is Monday <br /> evening and that will be a fall back position if they are unable <br /> to get the Selectmen together at 4: 30 on Thursday, July 8th. <br /> Ms. Caffyn did not feel the Selectmen needed to meet the <br /> recommended firm, DRA, but would like a synopsis of how they were <br /> chosen. The Committee will also address the many reasons why <br /> they chose the firm they did. <br /> • Mr. Fudala raised the question of whether this Committee can open <br /> the bids before the Selectmen have chosen a firm?
