s -
• MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MINUTES
AUGUST 24, 1993
MASHPEE TOWN HALL
Present: Merry Sue Ahlgren, Bill Jones, Peter Dinizio, Linda
Murtha, Janice Mills, Paul Griffin Joe Polito, Tom Fudala, Dr.
Lincoln DeMoura, Greg Taylor
Absent: Robert Mills, Bill Martiros, Steve Greelish ,
Meeting convened at 7 :49 p.m.
MINUTES
Ms. Ahlgren made a motion to accept the minutes of August 17 ,
1993. Mr. Griffin seconded the motion. All members were in
favor.
APPRAISAL RFP
Tom Fudala explained the document is complete and is advertised
in today's Enterprise. Proposals are due on Sept. 7th or 10th ,
probably the 7th. There was not enough time for the appraiser to
complete the work before Nov. 1st. The work of the first phase
is due on Nov. 15th . Special Town Meeting will probably be first
week of December. Phase II work is included in the RFP so it
• must only go to bid this one time.
Chairman Dinizio stated the Committee is asking Mr. Whritenour to
provide them with an estimate of value of the two sites; how he
decides to get that information is up to him (and Tom) .
The funding is through the high school building Committee.
Janice Mills feels there is still some agenda around town that
Falmouth will accept Mashpee' s students for one more year but
they have said NO. It is imperative to build a high school and
issues cannot keep getting put off and put off. The December date
scares her.
Ms. Murtha asked about the calendar with the Mass. Dept of
Education? If there is a date that proposals have to be to
them? The Committee should be looking for that Date.
Mr. Jones explained the State will prioritize the list every year
on July 1st. Before that date they need preliminary drawings,
sketches, etc submitted. If you don't make it by then you wait 1
more year.
The Committee agreed to ask DRA what kind of preliminary
information must be submit to the State.
The Committee should start communicating with the State and
prepare them, in writing, that this project is coming.
. Chairman Dinizio asked Ms. Murtha to draft a letter to SFSB, a
1
