r MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MINUTES TUESDAY, JANUARY 18, 1994 TOWN HALL Present: Peter Dinizio, Bill Jones, Merry Sue Ahlgren, Bill Martiros, Steve Greelish , Joe Polito, Paul Griffin, Michael Pare, Joan Avant-Tavares Absent: Janice Mills, Jayne Hendricks Meeting convened at 7 : 35 p.m. Committee members introduced themselves to new alternate members Michael Pare and Joan Avant-Tavares. MINUTES ** Mr. Griffin made a motion to accept the minutes as amended (date changed from Jan . 20 to Jan. 10) . Ms. Ahlgren seconded the motion. All members were in favor 7-0. INTERVIEWS Mr. Griffin recommended shortening the presentation time to 1 hour for these five firms , since they are the Committee's second choice. Some of these firms don 't qualify , in his mind. The Committee agreed they have to allow these 5 firms the same interview time as the original firms. Bill Jones suggested using a score sheet, with 8-10 parameters for every Committee member to use. This was not done at the last round of interviews. Mr. Greelish wants to dedicate a certain amount of time for discussion of each firm, after the interviews are complete. He does not think the Committee should rank them on Feb. 8th, the night they complete the interviews. The Committee agreed to interview two firms on Jan. 25th - SMMA and TDPC, BTA and Graham Gund on Feb 1 and SMH on Feb. 8th. ** Mr. Greelish made a motion to interview Architectural firms on the following schedule at the Mashpee Middle School : Jan . 25 4: 00 Symmes Maini & McKee Associates Jan . 25 6 : 00 The Design Partnership of Cambridge Feb. 1 4:00 Benjamin Thompson & Assoc. /Homes & Edwards Feb. 1 5 : 00 Graham Gund Feb. 8 4:00 Strekalovsky & Hoit, Inc. Mr. Griffin seconded the motion. * Ms. Ahlgren amended the motion that the parenthetical phase " in relation to our project" be added to 1
