(4 <br /> MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12 , 1996 <br /> TOWN HALL <br /> Present: Merry Sue Ahlgren, Joe Polito, Bill Martiros, Janice Mills , Steve <br /> Greelish, Peter Dinizio , Paul Griffin <br /> Also Present: Jim Byrne, Joel Seeley, Ed Frenette, John Williams , Ian <br /> Aitchison, Bill Hauck, Bob Whritenour, Dr. Petti <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 07 p.m. <br /> CONTRACTOR' S PAYMENT REQUISITION <br /> ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval <br /> and payment Stone ' s payment requisition for $1 ,455 , 670 . Merry Sue <br /> seconded the motion. <br /> Steve asked if all outstanding issues have been taken care of? <br /> Paul said Stone ' s original request was for $1 . 9 million but was cut to $1 . 4 <br /> million which represents the amount necessary to remedy the work to date . <br /> Stone has provided the waiver of liens and employment information. <br /> ** All members were in favor 7-0** <br /> Paul discussed what has transpired since the last meeting. On January 31st <br /> there was a meeting with Cashin Assoc . (Mike Spinelli ) , consultant to <br /> Liberty Mutual , Stone, Chartwell , SMMA and Paul . The bottom line is Stone <br /> was still not willing to commit . <br /> Merry Sue asked if Mike Spinelli did what he was there to do? <br /> Paul said he was there to size up the situation; to see if there was any <br /> areas to bring us (town, Stone ) together. <br /> Two hours were spent just discussing deficiencies. Stone made their hole <br /> deeper on those issues . <br /> When that meeting concluded, there was a second meeting between Paul , David <br /> Patrick, Alan Scott and Mike Spinelli . Mr. Spinelli did not understand <br /> Stone , he did not think the owners are being difficult. There are only 3 <br /> areas the owners want Stone to expedite, interior and exterior studding and <br /> interior masonry. <br /> Stone feels there is no problem with interior masonry, they feel they are <br /> on track. <br /> Paul explained, at the end of the meeting, when Stone said they are not <br /> prepared to loose any more money on this job, he lost it. <br /> At last week' s job meeting Stone said they now do not plan to heat the <br /> auditorium/gym wing. They will only provide locational heating where the <br /> trades are working . They will heat room by room. <br /> Peter said their schedule showed that area to be closed in by December 15 <br /> are they just going to ignore their schedule? <br /> Paul said they have built one room using that method and the heater went <br /> out and there is the potential the masonry froze and it may have to come <br /> down. <br /> Since day 1 there have been problems , starting with the footings, we were <br /> 1 <br />
