r- <br /> HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JANUARY 16 , 1996 <br /> HIGH SCHOOL SITE <br /> Present : Janice Mills , Merry Sue Ahlgren, Peter Dinizio , Paul Griffin, <br /> Bill Martiros, Joe Polito <br /> Also Present: Tom Wren, Ian Aitchison, Joel Seeley, Jim Byrne , John <br /> Williams , Dr. DeMoura, Dr. Elizabeth Petti , Bill Hauck <br /> Meeting convened at 4 :08 p.m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Dec 27th: Tom Wren said, when discussing critical path, he disagrees with <br /> Stone' s definition that up to 2 weeks exist within critical path. <br /> The Committee will hold on accepting the minutes. <br /> CHANGE ORDERS <br /> The Committee reviewed the change orders that will be before the Selectmen <br /> for approval later this evening . <br /> Sewage Treatment Plant: operation and maintenance manual and RFP for sludge <br /> hauler. The Committee is requesting a $17,000 addition to SMMA' s contract <br /> so they can contract with Woodard and Curran to provide these services. <br /> The discharge permit was issued with these two issues as qualifications, <br /> they have to be in place before an operational permit will be issued. Paul <br /> mentioned that because our system is not a standard system, they are unable <br /> to duplicate another manual . <br /> The change order is for $119 . 00 for miscellaneous plumbing . <br /> Peter said the Selectmen did not approve the granite curbs. He asked if <br /> the Committee would like him to try again. <br /> Paul does not think it is worth the fight . The Committee agreed. <br /> Draft Change Order #7 : occupancy sensors . Paul said he left this in the <br /> hands of SMMA to determine if the sensors made sense and will generate a <br /> savings. <br /> Joel said their electrical engineers have decided to go with the motion <br /> sensors. The contractor is pricing it now. <br /> Paul said because the matter is getting urgent, we may gave to make the <br /> decision and discuss pricing later. <br /> Joel said they think it will be an extra. <br /> In the long term it will save electricity, bulbs and maintenance. <br /> If there is no activity in the room the lights will go off but there will <br /> be individual controls in each classroom to turn lights on and off. <br /> Joel said SMMA has not yet received the cost estimate from Stone on the <br /> additional fields. <br /> Paul was guaranteed Joel would have them last Wednesday. <br /> 1 <br />
