i
Stone , in their rush to catch up, are not observing the work as they
should.
- roofing : the inspector has been here the last 2 days. Jim thinks it is
working out very well , he is constantly on the roof while the roofers are
installing .
The inspector is not yet ready to report on the vapor barrier situation.
He does produce field reports from his visits .
- Inside building : they have stepped up the work in derricks 1-6 ,
predominately 1 & 4. Joel said Stone was getting ahead of themselves with
the second layer of drywall before insulation, etc. was reviewed. A
procedure must be set up.
- Bill Hauck is asking that the architects be on site before any walls are
closed up. He said he is not seeing the work going correctly. Legally,
the architects must issue the stop order. If we are not getting
conformance that is a problem and the architects are the ones to handle
that problem.
There will be a conference call between Paul , Joel and Bill Hauck tomorrow
to discuss this issue.
Joel has told them no more sheetrock should be going up.
Stone is either. not reading or ignoring the letters to stop work on take
some work down.
Paul told SMMA to hit them hard, tell them to take it down.
Jim wants the Committee to be aware of this because it will really effect
the schedule .
Tom Wren said there are some real coordination conflicts between services.
There is duct work that is in direct conflict with sprinkler pipes. There
is vertical duct work in the academic wing that is not fixed as it should
be and there is insufficient head height .
There have been no coordination drawings submitted yet for derricks 6-12 .
They make 100 feet of progress but have to take down 80 ft .
Paul said it is getting to the point he doesn' t know what is correct and
what isn't . Some things are getting better but he does not see other
things getting resolved.
Dr. Petti said the more pressure you put on them, it seems the work
deteriorates and that won't save time.
PREVAILING WAGE
Tom said Stone ' s requisition will be submitted with the understanding they
can submit prevailing wage info up to 4 weeks in arrears.
Paul asked if they have come to an agreement on procedure - when will
Chartwell get the requisition and backup?
Tom said Stone has said they are not prepared to submit a pencil draft
requisition.
Paul told Tom he will just have to send it back to them if he does not
agree, and they will not get paid.
Joel said they can follow the statute, the pencil requisition was for the
benefit of Stone.
Tom said their full submission will arrive 1 week before the Committee
meeting .
4
