lBesides that, CIC is substantially complete, they owe use copies of some warranties.
Paul asked if the $16,000 is being held from CIC for a reason? Mike said$10,000 is for training.
CRC wants to do a formal reconciliation before paying out the remainder.
Paul said they should be sure to have the remaining documentation before paying them.
-National Telecom: Mike Kirin sent them a nasty letter telling them we will find a solution to
the portable phone. Paul said he should give them notice with a certain number of days to reply
- 7 days.
- HB Communications: Tom O'Connor was present. He explained we can now send video from
the control room to classrooms. The projection is up and running in the auditorium. They
installed as many AMX boxes as they could.
You cannot see the cable TV signal over this system now. There is a request for a change order
that has to be addressed to resolve that. The change order is for boosters - amplifiers. Mr.
O'Connor had anticipated it and put it in writing that he thought it would be required.
Paul said he thought we would get that from the cable company?
Mike Pietrowski said he called Continental Cable to inquire about that. They had agreed to
provide cable signal to the building, any internal amplification is not related to them. They are
responsible only for bringing it into the building. Mike explained that he had expressed his
concern about this before, he thought we would definitely need amplification. It should have
been a performance spec.
Joel said there are several sides to that issue.
Paul said at one time Continental was willing to wire the building, why won't they provide
amplification?
Peter said if amplification is required we will have to pay for it, either then or now.
Steve asked if the cable company gave us the line between the schools? They did.
Mike Kirwin said there has been a change in the regulatory terrain recently and that is where
these issue comes from. It is now a more competitive environment.
The change order for the amplifier is $5,500 total.
Mike Pietrowski said at the last meeting Mike Kinvin said amplification would not be an issue.
We should not be paying for this, he feels uncomfortable with it.
Paul said if we didn't buy it, we don't own it and we have to buy it. It is not an obligation of the
contractor.
Peter asked if, on the TVs in the front lobby, we can use them as one large screen, with one
piece of an image on each? Tom O'Connor said we cannot. We can tune each one into a
different channel.
- AMX boxes: are the small control boxes that allow use of wireless controls in a classroom.
Without it you cannot control the centralized distribution system for video. We need to buy 18
more boxes.
Joel explained that the AMX boxes were added with the technology change order.
Paul said we issued HB that contract in September, why has it taken so long to get this piece
out? Joel said that is a valid point. It is partly because the rooms were not being used.
Tom O'Connor said a ballpark figure for those boxes is $18,660.
