Mike Pietrowski said in the original planning, it was his understanding that every classroom
would have an AMX box. They were inadvertently omitted on the second floor. In his opinion
this is an errors and omissions issue.
Paul said the Committee will take up all the errors and omissions issues at another time.
Merry Sue wants to be sure they won't find any more rooms without them after this.
Jim Byme discussed the situation with some of the TVs in the science labs. They were in
dangerous places so they were taken down and put on cabinets but they are too high and not
secured. At
today's meetingthey identified the rooms with this problem. Perhaps carts could be
purchased to put them on.
Paul does not like carts, they are too top heavy. Dr. DeMoura agrees. There are a lot of
litigation issues on that.
Paul said we will have to go back and investigate each of these. There may not be one solution
for all 13 rooms.
Tom O'Connor wants to be sure all the rooms without AMX boxes have the cabling for it before
committing to that figure.. He left to check the rooms.
Peter asked if we can televise live?
Mike Kirwin said we have to involve the cable company with that. Channel 75 will be the high
school channel but he does not know what the activation date is.
John Williams asked if foam rubber can be installed on the mounting brackets for the TVs, some
of them are low enough to walk into. Tom O'Connor will look into it.
After surveying the rooms Tom O'Connor said room E107, 110, 126 have no cabling run to
them, there is no A IX control to those rooms.
Paul suggested the parties involved talk about solving the AMX wiring issue and then bring the
estimate to Paul. If it is reasonable he will approve it as a CCD. The Committee agreed.
** Merry Sue made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval a change
order for HB Communications for$5,500 for amplifier and built in blockers for the
cable system. Janice seconded the motion. All members were in favor 7-0**
** Merry Sue made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval a change
order to HB Communications not to exceed $19,000 for 18 AMX boxes, with
installation in all but 4 rooms which do not have the wiring. Janice seconded the
motion. All members were in favor 7-0**
Joe asked about the cracks in the concrete block and the field work - or lack of it.
Paul explained that Stone is done working on the inside of the building. They have until April
15th to work on the exterior. Joel said the cracks in the block are a top priority.
They have until April 15th to do whatever they can on the fields. They have asked for an
extension but were told we are not interested.
Peter asked about putting down sod, on at least one of the practice fields.
