Approval of Minutes - Minutes accepted as presented. <br /> 2 . Open Forum - No comments received., <br /> 3 . Discussions on Subcommittee Formation - <br /> a. After-School Programs <br /> (1) Soliciting of Area Organizations/Resources as <br /> Speakers/Program Hosts . Suggestion made that community <br /> and area members could come in and spend sometime with <br /> the children. <br /> (2) Junior Achievement and career day. <br /> (3) Coast Guard Auxiliary - Safe Boating. <br /> (4) Big Brother/Big Sister - Has a program that works <br /> on weekends mostly. <br /> (5) Mr. Feldman asked about some formalized structure <br /> with older children working with younger ones. It must <br /> stay in school grounds . One thing that would probably <br /> provide the children much fun would be to stage a play <br /> or theatrical production. <br /> (6) Mashpee Reads <br /> b. Grant Subcommittee. Mr. Feldman discussed work done <br /> last year by several volunteers on grants . He distributed a <br /> handout on some organizations (that looked promising) that <br /> provide grants. Last year' s group identified several dozen <br /> corporations/agencies that the council should pursue . <br /> Procedures are different for each corporation. Some have <br />
