• The Town has received a three-year Wellness Grant that will help to increase physical <br /> fitness throughout the district. Funding will provide for a rock-climbing wall at KCC, <br /> staff professional development and physical education and playground equipment. <br /> • Eight bus monitors have been hired to reduce discipline referrals during afternoon <br /> transportation home. <br /> Professional development was discussed. It provides: <br /> • Staff opportunities to collaborate at weekly PLC team meetings <br /> • Guest speakers and presentations <br /> • Strengthening of curriculum knowledge <br /> • Formative/summative assessment discussions and plans <br /> • Time to use and analyze data to assist students <br /> Suggestions for the$5,000 Celebrating the Arts Grant from Bob's Discount Furniture <br /> included assemblies, field trips, percussion groups, Red Hawk Drummers, Cape Cod <br /> African Dance and Drum Troop and collaboration with Kim Palmer, Art Teacher for <br /> suggestions. <br /> Maureen Paxton, Food Service Director, will be the guest speaker at the November,29 <br /> School Council meeting and will discuss the charge policy for school meals. <br /> Remaining School Council meeting dates are scheduled as follows: <br /> • Tuesday, December 13 <br /> • Tuesday,January 24 <br /> • Tuesday, February 28 <br /> • Tuesday, March 27 <br /> • Tuesday, April 24 <br /> • Tuesday, May 23 <br /> Meeting adjorned at 4:1Opm. <br /> i <br />
