School Improvement Planning Process GOAL 3 - HUMAN RESOURCES AND <br /> Draft Format for Action Planning: How are we going to get there? PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT <br /> Strategic Goal Statement (What is the research base for this strategy?): <br /> Staff will devote 100% of provided professional development time to working in effective Professional Learning <br /> Communities. The PLCs are based on the research of DuFour, DuFour, Eaker and Many. District release time and <br /> meetings per staff goals will provide for teacher collaboration to improve student learning. Staff will be committed to <br /> their weekly, monthly and yearly professional development meeting times. <br /> Connection to District Strategic Plan (To which District Objective(s) does this Goal tie?): <br /> Goal Area 1: Academic Achievement - Objective 1: Improve student achievement - Objective 2: Highly qualified <br /> teachers in every classroom. Classroom observations by the administrator and PLCs <br /> improve student learning per Goal 2. PLCs also discuss critical issues for team consideration at each meeting regarding <br /> curriculum, assessment, instruction and progress monitoring. <br />
