Russell will act as secretary when Mrs. McCaffery is absent. <br /> Nancy Bowes made the motion to elect Donna McCaffery/Carol <br /> Russell to the secretary position. Sandra Reichel seconded the <br /> motion . The vote of the board was unanimous. Lucinda McKay <br /> nominated Nancy Bowes and Sandra Reichel to serve as co- <br /> chairpersons . Joseph Cusack seconded the motion. The vote was <br /> unanimous. <br /> Scout Bulb Plantings <br /> The council discussed the offer made by the local Boy Scout <br /> troop last fall to plant bulbs around the school ground . The <br /> council had tabled this offer last year in order to evaluate <br /> exactly what type of landscaping should be done , i . e. shrubs , <br /> bulbs, etc. Unfortunately, the Scout troop has already taken on <br /> its fall planting project for this year. We do, however, thank <br /> them for their kind offer. Mrs. Doyle will write a letter <br /> expressing our appreciation. Nancy Bowes will contact the <br /> Mashpee Beautification Council to see if bulbs can be purchased <br /> through them for use at the school . <br /> Family Math Night <br /> The council discussed planning the Family Math Night <br /> project outlined in the School Improvement Plan . The Family <br /> Math Night should offer something for every grade level . It <br /> will be an enrichment night for math concepts . Carol Russell <br /> offered to head up the committee to plan the Family Math Night <br /> for grades K-2 . Lucinda McKay offered to do the same for grades <br /> 3-6 . Nancy Bowes moved that Mrs . Russell and Mrs. McKay co- <br /> chair the planning committee, Sandra Reichel seconded the <br /> motion . The vote was unanimous. Brittany Widdis and Sarah <br /> Zefzaf were asked by the council to help with the planning . <br /> Mrs . Doyle asked the planning committee to gather input from <br /> Dennis Dunivan, the Math Curriculum Chairperson ; Mrs . Blackwood <br /> and Mrs. McKay, hand-on equations; Martha Gallo, chairperson for <br /> KC Coombs School Math Night; and, Sue Werfelman, family math . <br /> The committee will also involve the Volunteer Coordinators for a <br /> list of parents who might be interested in helping. <br /> Review Projected FY 200 Budget <br /> Mrs. Doyle reviewed the proposed FY 2000 budget. She <br /> pointed out several revisions to the original budget. The QRS <br /> office needs to be moved to a larger area. The office also <br />
