Other requests included in the FY 2000 budget are: <br /> one additional grade 3 ; one additional grade 6; and , the <br /> supporting additional transportation , SPED and specialist <br /> services . <br /> Mr. Tippo, Principal of the Quashnet Valley School is also <br /> requesting an additional grade 6. There will be a space <br /> shortage problem at the Quashnet Schools for FY 2000. Mrs. <br /> Doyle noted the need to possibly build additional space was <br /> discussed at the last School Committee meeting . Mrs . Doyle <br /> calls in classroom enrollment figures weekly to the <br /> Superintendent' s Office . <br /> Currently, there is no conference room space at QRS . This <br /> presents a potential problem with privacy. If a conference room <br /> is needed , the QVS or Guidance Department conference rooms are <br /> used, if available . <br /> Mrs . Doyle noted we are very grateful to the School <br /> Committee for approving the full time school year secretarial <br /> position for QRS. However, we do need additional secretarial <br /> support for the Guidance Department. Presently, one secretary <br /> covers the needs of both QRS and QVS. There is also no <br /> secretarial support for the summer months creating a severe <br /> backlog problem with paperwork when school begins in the fall . <br /> Review School Improvement Plan <br /> The council will review the School Improvement Plan for the <br /> next meeting. The new council members will be provided a copy <br /> of the School Improvement Plan. <br /> Introduce New Improvement Plan <br /> The council discussed when and how to introduce the next <br /> School Improvement Plan. This will be an agenda item for the <br /> next meeting. <br /> Review School Survey Results <br /> Sandra Reichel presented a brief overview of the School <br /> Survey results. Mrs. Reichel will collate the comments from the <br /> survey for presentation at the next meeting .
