needs to be more strategically placed within the school building . Other requests included in the FY 2000 budget are: one additional grade 3 ; one additional grade 6; and , the supporting additional transportation , SPED and specialist services . Mr. Tippo, Principal of the Quashnet Valley School is also requesting an additional grade 6. There will be a space shortage problem at the Quashnet Schools for FY 2000. Mrs. Doyle noted the need to possibly build additional space was discussed at the last School Committee meeting . Mrs . Doyle calls in classroom enrollment figures weekly to the Superintendent' s Office . Currently, there is no conference room space at QRS . This presents a potential problem with privacy. If a conference room is needed , the QVS or Guidance Department conference rooms are used, if available . Mrs . Doyle noted we are very grateful to the School Committee for approving the full time school year secretarial position for QRS. However, we do need additional secretarial support for the Guidance Department. Presently, one secretary covers the needs of both QRS and QVS. There is also no secretarial support for the summer months creating a severe backlog problem with paperwork when school begins in the fall . Review School Improvement Plan The council will review the School Improvement Plan for the next meeting. The new council members will be provided a copy of the School Improvement Plan. Introduce New Improvement Plan The council discussed when and how to introduce the next School Improvement Plan. This will be an agenda item for the next meeting. Review School Survey Results Sandra Reichel presented a brief overview of the School Survey results. Mrs. Reichel will collate the comments from the survey for presentation at the next meeting .
