Our 10-11 School Improvement Plan Student Academic Achievement goals were
presented to the School Committee (12/8/10). Mrs. DeBoer explained that we are again
tying these academic goals to MCAS but will be looking at student performance on an
individual basis—how many students' scaled scores increased. Our 10-11 SIP student
achievement goals in both ELA and mathematics are that 90% of our students will show
improvement. Prior year's MCAS student performance data using this focus was
presented to the School Committee and School Council.
5. Other
A. Standards-based Report Cards
We will begin the process of developing a K-6 standards-based report card—
working with Debra Goulart, the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and
Assessment, Donna Zaeske, Principal of the K.C. Coombs School, and a
committee of teachers yet to be formed. We are waiting until Spring--once the
National Common Core Standards are finalized. Parents will be.included.as the
process moves forward. Sample report cards are being collected. The Power
School component will also be explored.
Our next meeting—originally scheduled for Thursday, January 6, 2011, has been
rescheduled to Thursday, January 13. 2011 at 3.15 PM (Quashnet Conference Room)
