Review SYI0-11 School Improvement Plan Goal"10 minutes)
Academic Achievement Goal—ELA; Academic Achievement Goal—Mathematics
School Culture Goal—Safe and Respectful Learning Environment; Student Wellness Goal
■ We briefly reviewed the District's Strategic Plan—focusing on the student achievement goal.
• We reviewed the SY10-I lQuashnet School Improvement Plan(SIP)—focusing primarily on our
student achievement goals.
■ We did not meet our SY10-11 SIP student achievement goals. Our measurement of progress as
stated in our SIP is that 90% percent of all students who participated in the 2011 MCAS would
achieve a score higher than that which they earned on their 2010 MCAS (both for ELA and
Mathematics). In both subject areas we fell well below this target.
6. Council
members are encouraged to email suggestions to me prior to our next meeting and to be ready at our
next meeting to share recommendations.
8. Uniform student dress policy/school uniforms
We briefly discussed last year's end-of-year parent survey regarding student uniforms at Quashnet. I
will share the summarized data at our next meeting. All council members present support moving
forward in the direction of developing a school uniform policy for Quashnet students. To gather
additional data, we will conduct another survey of parents—probably through our web-based School
Messenger system.
SUBMITTED BY: Patricia DeBoer —
October 9, 2011
