Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide <br /> student performance standards <br /> 2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school <br /> 3. Reviewing the annual school building budget <br /> 4. Review/Discussion of Proposed SY11-12 School Improvement Plan Goals—(25 minutes) <br /> Academic Achievement Goal—ELA; Academic Achievement Goal—Mathematics <br /> School Culture Goal—Safe and Respectful Learning Environment; Student Wellness Goal <br /> We reviewed the proposed SY11-12 Quashnet School Improvement Plan—specifically: <br /> • Inclusion of District's Core Values <br /> ■ Each goal and actions to achieve the goal <br /> ■ Measurement of Progress <br /> All are in agreement with plan as written. (Final version--see attached) <br /> 2. Uniform Dress Code for Quashnet Student—(10 minutes) <br /> Spring 2011 School Uniform Survey Results <br /> Questions to pose using automated survey through School Messenger system <br /> ■ We reviewed the Spring 2011 School Uniform Survey results. <br /> ■ All members of the School Council are in favor of moving forward—taking the next steps to bring <br /> uniform student dress to the Quashnet School. <br /> ■ We agreed to gather more data—conduct another family survey using our School Messenger system <br /> and also gather additional input from faculty and staff—all results to be shared with the <br /> Superintendent and School Committee. <br /> ■ Automated Uniform Student Dress Survey Questionsto be reviewed by Council members prior to <br /> sending out the survey <br /> 1. Do you think having students dress uniformly will stop students from teasing <br /> each other about clothes? <br /> 2. Do you think having students dress uniformly will help to develop a sense of <br /> student community and belonging within the school setting? <br /> 3. Do you think having students dress uniformly will eliminate distractions that <br /> interfere with student learning? <br /> 4. Are you in favor of having the students at the Quashnet School dress uniformly-- <br /> Fitted chino style pants, skirts, shorts, or capris in khaki, blue, or black color and <br /> a solid color polo style shirt—long or short sleeved—without emblems, logos, or <br /> designs <br />
