Review/Discuss Final Version SYII-12 School Improvement Plan (10 minutes) <br /> The final version of the SY11-12 Quashnet School Improvement Plan was reviewed. All members of <br /> the Council were in agreement with its content. The SIP will be presented to the School Committee <br /> on December 8h. <br /> 2. Uniform Dress Code for Ouashnet Students-00 minutes) <br /> We reviewed the results of two web-based surveys-11/27 and 11/29. The data specific to Question <br /> #4 (Are you in favor of having students at the Quashnet School dress uniformly—wearing reasonably <br /> priced fitted chino style pants, skirts, shorts, or capris in khaki, blue, or black color and a solid color <br /> polo style shirt—long or short sleeved—without emblems, logos, or designs?) is as follows: <br /> 11/27 Survey: Families YES-62% NO-38% (Total # of Responses-94) <br /> 11/29 Survey: Families YES-67% NO-33% (Total # of Responses-109) <br /> Spring 2011 Paper Survey: Families YES-75%* NO-25% (Total # of Responses-251) <br /> *Note: Paper Survey "YES" responses includes those who responded "possibly." <br /> Next Steps: <br /> A. Plan parent meeting to discuss uniform student dress <br /> Proposed date: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 (6:00—7:00 PM) <br /> Provide babysitting service and snacks <br /> Time limit for speakers <br /> Student models wear the proposed uniform school dress <br /> (Children of Council members and/or others) <br /> B. Create informational brochure (to be distributed at parent meeting) <br /> Include feedback from Falmouth and data about other public schools <br /> Include local and online sources for purchasing the uniform dress items—including prices <br /> C. Council members established a target of 75% of our families saying"YES" in order to move forward <br /> with having Quashnet students dress uniformly. <br />
