Sewage Treatment Plant: O&M manual status, town hall received it
back from the attorney and Tom sent it (Fed Ex) to DEP today.
Steve asked if Weston and Sampon can give us a hand, since they
will be doing the maintenance and operation. Someone should ask
them
Audio Visual vendors : there is a meeting scheduled for Tuesday,
July 9th to resolve the contract .
Additional fields and road work bids are due July 3rd.
Score board for football field: Dr. DeMoura and John Williams are
going to follow it up with the manufacturer.
Sound system in gym: Joel researched Steve ' s concerns and this
did slip through the cracks. The intention was to have speakers
pointing directly down. Steve said at this point it is not worth
going back to fix it, it will cost a lot of money.
Janice asked why this is not the system, if this is what we
requested?
Steve said he made the request but it got lost. As a change order
now, it would cost $10 , 000 .
Janice asked if we should be paying for the change , it is what we
wanted and didn' t get.
Joel explained he looked at all the files of meetings and there
is no record of a specific direction for that system. SMMA
designed a simple PA system, with a wireless microphone for the
gym. They will be happy to issue the documents to Stone to
provide this system, and there won't be a charge to develop the
documents but to say it is SMMA' s cost to provide the speaker
system is not correct .
Joel does not know how much it will cost to add it.
Steve said the concept was for the sound to be a straight shot to
the floor, there would be less echo problems and better sound
quality, Now we have 2 clusters of horns . Cavanaugh Tocci was
not hired to do that engineering, but Steve discussed the favored
approach with them for the gym. He thought SMMA would do it.
Now, it would have to be re-wired and buy all new speakers ( 8-10
of them) .
li Janice would like to see if we have the money, it is worth it .
Paul said the Committee has a list of options to evaluate .
Paul gave an update on construction progress .
SMMA advised Stone that furniture delivery will begin on August
6th and asked then to notify SMMA if there was anything to hold
that up. Stone replied they still expect to meet the July 23rd
date .
Kosta is now on the job full time to expedite A,B & E wings . The
biggest Sat . crew ever worked this past Saturday ( ( 75+ men) .
The carpet has been cut for most of the second floor and is going
down tomorrow. The rolled VCT will be going down before the end
of the week.
4
