COURTEMANCHE: It could be considered an industry, a shellfishing <br /> industry. I'm not familiar with what tshhe aqua farmer will be doing. <br /> V. POCKNETT: I may fool with a couple of traps, but primarily <br /> plant and replace. <br /> j <br /> D. McCLOUD: Will the .land be altered in any way? <br /> ii <br /> V. POCKNETT: No. <br /> CHMN. O'CONNELL: The application does .not intrude over land, as <br /> such. It' s all within the confines of a water area. There could <br /> ! � <br /> be no structures. j <br /> E. SIMPSON: Is Punkhorn Point just below Gillis or more toward <br /> Town? <br /> G. BENWAY: More to the left. <br /> E. SIMPSON: How many people will work the grant? <br /> V. POCKNETT: The area is covered with grass . Have to chain <br /> . drag it to get the grass out. <br /> X FLOOR: Explains an incident about people digging up her yard, <br /> leaving a mess, when they trespassed over her land to go shell- <br /> fishing. Pirates Cove - not relative to this hearing. She was � I <br /> asked to bring this to the attention of the Shellfish Constable ; I i <br /> ' after the proceedings or call the Selectmen' s Office. <br /> E. SIMPSON: Is this grant for 10 years? <br /> 3 . R. COURTEMANCHE: Yes - not exceeding 10 years . <br /> C. COURTEMANCHE: Is the growth and progress monitored yearly by <br /> the State? <br /> R. COURTEMANCHE: The grant is under the control of the Town. <br /> Number and kind of bushels of seed planted each year, number <br /> produced, number marketed, estimated number of bushels growing or <br /> grown in total bushels. There are certain proceedings that do <br /> occur that the grantee has to abide by. There are certain regula- <br /> tions, one being, they have to report the amount of shellfish put <br /> in and taken out on an annual basis . <br /> E. SIMPSON: Who provides the funds for the grant. <br /> 1F`, <br /> V. POCKNET: CETA, under Title III. <br />
