AmeriCorps <br /> Service week will be in Mashpee in May 2013. All members of AmeriCorps Cape <br /> Cod will be working on conservation and shellfish projects for one week. We are <br /> planning to construct new oyster seed trays in order to double our oyster seeding <br /> next year. The county dredge is scheduled for maintenance dredging of the <br /> Popponesset Bay approach channel in Nantucket Sound, and the "1916" channel <br /> that goes north inside the mouth of the bay sometime from November to January <br /> 15 of next year. The homeowner has cleaned up the kitty litter from the <br /> Seconset Island causeway. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Shellfish Propagation: The Town of Falmouth seeded over a million <br /> quahogs in Waquoit Bay this year. In the past it was about 600,000. They plan a <br /> large increase in propagation next year to about $100,000 (from $25,000) and <br /> the hiring of a full-time propagation biologist.
