{ <br /> Annual Town Meeting - May 4, 1981 <br /> Page 9 <br /> ARTIChE <br /> 35 To see if the Town will vote to amend the Town By- haws <br /> .by adding the following to Chapter 4, Article 4.6, Section 4.6.6: ? <br /> Any new structure containing more than one dwelling unit to be built <br /> in the Town of Mashpee, including but not limited to structures known <br /> as condominiums, shall have installed an alarm system so prescribed <br /> by the Fire Chief as follows: <br /> Smoke detectors shall be installed on each level including the <br /> basement of each unit within the structure as prescribed by the <br /> Massachusetts State Building Code. These smoke detectors shall <br /> be local to the unit and wired on an essential circuit within the <br /> unit, such as the kitchen circuit. <br /> There shall be a rate of rise fixed tem ' { <br /> installed on each level including the basementof <br /> each <br /> detector <br /> f each unit <br /> within the structure and a prescribed number of heat detectors lig, <br /> in each attic space over each unit depending on the size of the <br /> attic. There shall be a fixed temperature heat detector in the <br /> room or space which houses the heatingplant fort, '. <br /> structure. p each unit or <br /> These heat detectors shall be part of a complete, closed alarm.. <br /> system, local to the entire building or structure, therefore <br /> sounding around and throughout the entire building or structure. ' <br /> This system will be a low voltage system with a sixty- hour back- !' <br /> t <br /> % up. The AC power connection shall connect ahead of the main switch <br /> with a locking device and key. The wiring for energy fire alarm <br /> wire rated at 906 centigrade. <br /> If the layout of a particular structure calls for common hallways dq'` <br /> thereshall be smokedetectors ineach hallway which are wired to the 1� " <br /> low voltage alarm system, the number and location to be determined <br /> by the Fire Chief.These hallway smoke detectors shall be equipped <br /> with at least.- a nin69) second delay capacitor and screen. Also if <br /> common hallways- exist there shall be a pull station at either end <br /> of the hallway located as recommended by the Massachusetts State <br /> Building Code and a zone panel box in each common hallway. The <br /> number of zones and location of box shall be negotiable. <br /> Within this low voltage alarm system in each building or structure <br /> � <br /> there shall be installed exterior audible bells or horn and an <br /> exterior rotating beacon light which shall be located as prescribed <br /> by the Fire Chief and which will be activated by the activation of <br /> any warning device within this closed system. These bells or horns <br /> shall also be installed in the common hallwayst hallways, where they exist in <br /> any given building or structure.
