i` <br /> Article 18 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to reauthorize the revolving Home Composting Bin Account <br /> through the Town Accountant's office in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter <br /> 44, Section 53E %, to be expended under the direction of the Board of Health, in order to place <br /> anticipated revenues collected from the sale of compost bins which shall be used to purchase <br /> additional compost bins, and advertise the availability of such bins, and to establish the limit on <br /> expenditures from said account for Fiscal Year 2001 at $2,500, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Health <br /> Explanation: A revolving account is required by the Department of Environmental <br /> Protection in order to receive compost bins at no charge to the Town. Revenues must be <br /> used to purchase additional bins and advertise their availability. <br /> Anticipated Budget: <br /> Revenues: $2,500 <br /> Expenditures: $2,500 <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to reauthorize the revolving Home Composting Bin Account <br /> through the Town Accountant's office in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter <br /> 44, Section 53E %2 to be expended under the direction of the Board of Health, in order to place <br /> anticipated revenues collected from the sale of compost bins which shall be used to purchase <br /> additional compost bins, and advertise the availability of such bins, and to establish the limit on <br /> expenditures from said account for Fiscal year 2001 at$2,500. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:49 p.m. <br /> Article 19 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $22,325 to <br /> the Waterways Commission Water Quality Monitoring Account, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Waterways Commission <br /> Explanation: This article provides funding to continue water quality testing in the Popponesset <br /> Bay embayment system in order to follow through with the baseline data collected in 1998-1999. <br /> This data is necessary to track continuing water quality problems in our bay systems to assist and <br /> enhance planning efforts and modeling which will determine the most cost-effective approaches <br /> for the restoration of bay waters. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee makes no recommendation. <br /> i; <br />
