• BOARD OF APPEALS <br />MINUTES <br />AUGUST 10, 1988 <br />At 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 10, 1988 the Board of Appeals <br />held a meeting at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board members present and <br />acting throughout were: Cheryl Hawver, Edward Govoni and Richard Halpern. <br />Mr. Douglas Boyd, Building Inspector, was in attendance. <br />PETER VANDERBIL - Mr. Halpern announced that this petition had <br />been withdrawn. He motioned to accept the withdrawal without prejudice. <br />Mr. Govoni seconded. All agreed. <br />STEVEN PURCELL - (Owner of Record: Artie DePaul) - Requests a <br />Special Permit under Section 10.2.4 of the Zoning By-laws for the con- <br />struction of a sign on property located at Echo Road (Map 20, Lots 25 <br />and 26), Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: Richard Halpern, Edward Govoni and Cheryl Hawver. <br />Steven Purcell represented his petition. He presented plans for <br />an 8' x 5' wooden sign at the entrance to Echo Park. The sign would <br />provide for eight slats for tenant identification. He reported that. <br />• the sign had been approved by the Design Review Committee. <br />Cheryl Hawver motioned to grant the Special Permit for the sign <br />as presented. Mr. Govoni seconded. All agreed. <br />DAVID HEMINGWAY - Requests a Special Permit under Section 5.1 of <br />the Zoning By-laws for permission to change a non -conforming structure <br />in an R-3 zoning district on property located on Horseshoe Bend Way <br />(Map 40, Lot 7) Mashpee, MA. <br />George Thorng of Arrow Engineering represented the Petition. He <br />reviewed plans for a new three-bedroom dwelling to replace an existing <br />dwelling on the property. He explained that the new dwelling has been <br />set back from Ashumet Pond as far as possible and a new septic system <br />will be installed. <br />Mrs. Hawver questioned the lot coverage percentages. Mr. Thorng <br />responded that the old house is 28 feet by 40 feet and the proposed <br />structure will be 30 feet by 40 feet. No abutters were present. <br />Mr. Govoni moved to grant the Special Permit as requested. Mrs. <br />Hawver seconded. All agreed. <br />
