MINUTES June 8, 1988 2 BOARD OF APPEALS <br />Mr. Hanrahan questioned Mr. Jacobs as to whether the Design Review <br />• Committee has reviewed the plans. <br />Mr. Jacobs stated, yes. <br />Mr. Boyd stated approval was received from the Design Review Committee <br />Mr. Jacobs presented a landscaping estimate of $26,000.00 before the <br />Board. <br />Mr. Byrnes, abutter, presented himself before the Board and stated <br />he is,:the owner of Byrnes Sand & Gravel located next to the proposed build- <br />ing and is concerned that the large trucks entering and exiting the area <br />from the gravel site may contain sand which may blow towards the market- <br />place and commented that he is only informing the applicant that noise and <br />dust will occur. <br />Mr. Hanrahan explained to Mr. Jacobs that he is well within his <br />property rites. <br />Mr. Makunas motioned to grant the Special Permit for the office/retail <br />complex as requested with the stipulation the applicant post a landscaping <br />bond with the Town Treasurer in the amount of $26,000.00, Mr. Hanrahan sec- <br />onded, all agreed. <br />• Alan Industries (owner on record; Diversified Resorts, Inc.) - Requests <br />a Special Permit un er Section 6, subsection I.12 of the Land Use Require- <br />ments for permission to store trailers in a I-1 Zoning District on property <br />located on lot 22, (map 88, parcel 22), Industrial Drive, Mashpee, Mass- <br />achusetts. <br />Members sitting: William Hanrahan, Michael Makunas and Richard Halpern. <br />Mr. Alan Mendleson was in attendance representing this application. <br />There were no abutters present. <br />Mr. Hanrahan questioned Mr. Mendleson as to whether he has consulted with <br />the Design Review Committee. <br />Mr. Mendleson responded, no. <br />Mr. Boyd informed Mr. Mendleson that storage in an Industrial District <br />must be screened from view. <br />Mr. Hanrahan informed Mr. Mendleson that he has applied for this Special <br />Permit improperly and should have also filed for a permit under section 11.B <br />of the zoning by-laws. <br />Mr. Makunas motioned to accept the written request for withdrawal <br />without prejudice for the Special Permit application, Mr. Hanrahan seconded, <br />all agreed. <br />,• <br />
