(b) Vacancy <br /> • � - Any vacancy in the office of executive <br /> secretary shall be filled as soon as <br /> pass ible by the- Boar-d 'of-.Satec <br /> pending such appointment the Board of <br /> Selectmen shall designate a qualified <br /> town 'officer or employee to perform the <br /> qqt i es of the executive secretary on -an <br /> acting basis. The -appointment of an <br /> acting executive s cretary shall be for <br /> a term not tc excee three months, pro— <br /> vi'ded, however , one renewal , not to <br /> exceed a second three months may be <br /> voted by the Board of Selectmen . The <br /> act-ing executive secretary shall be <br /> comp.ensated at the same level of pay , <br /> as the executive secretary but in no <br /> event to exceed the salary of the <br /> executive secretary. <br /> (c) Powers and Duties <br /> The powers of a temporary or acting <br /> executive secretary, under ( a) or (b) <br /> above , shall be limited to matters <br /> not admitting of delay. <br /> 2. 15.4 Removal and Suspension <br /> The executive secretary may be removed <br /> by a majority vote of the Board of <br /> Selectmen , for cause , after notice of <br /> the contemplated action has been given <br /> at least seven (7) days prior to the <br /> vote . Before the executive secretary <br /> may be removed from office , if he so <br /> demands, he shall be given a written <br /> statement of the reasons alleged for <br /> his removal , and shall have a right <br /> to be heard thereon at a meeting of <br /> the Board of Selectmen prior to a <br /> final vote on the question of his <br /> removal , but pending and during such <br /> hearing the Board of Selectmen may <br /> suspend him from office . The action <br /> of the Board of Selectmen in suspend— <br /> ing or removing the executive secre— <br /> tary shall be final , it being the <br /> i' intention of this provision to vest <br /> all authority and to fix all respon— <br /> si bi 1 i ty for such suspension or re— <br /> moval solely in the Board of Selectmen . <br /> The executive secretary shall continue <br />
