SECTION 1: PURPOSE AND VALIDITY <br /> L F it <br /> 1.1 Zoning Purposes <br /> For the purposes set forth in Massachusetts General <br /> Laws, Chapter 40A and all Acts in amendment thereof,. <br /> and in addition thereto, and under the authority there- <br /> C of, the height, area, location and use of buildings and <br /> structures and the use of land throughout the Town <br /> of Mashpee are hereby regulated as provided herein, <br /> and the Town is hereby divided into districts herein- <br /> after designated, defined and described, and shown on <br /> an official copy of the zoning map, dated May, 1979 as <br /> amended, on file with the Town Clerk, which map is <br /> hereby made a part of this By-Law. <br /> j <br /> 1.2 Conflict of Laws, Validity, Severability <br /> 1.21 In general, this By-Law is supplementary to other <br /> Town By-Laws affecting the use, height, area and loca- <br /> tion of buildings and use of premises, but where this <br /> 1 <br /> By-Law imposes a greater restriction in any respect <br /> than is imposed by other Town By-Laws, the provisions <br /> of this By-Law shall prevail. <br /> 1.22 The invalidity of any section or provision of this By- <br /> Law shall not invalidate any other section or provision. <br /> SECTION 2: DEFINITIONS <br /> ii <br /> For the purposes of this By-Law the following words and <br /> phrases shall have the meanings or limitations of meanings <br /> herein defined. All present tenses shall include past and <br /> future tenses and all past tense the present. All singular <br /> terms shall include the plural and the plural the singular. <br /> 2.01 Accessory <br /> a) Accessory building: a building devoted exclusively <br /> to a use accessory to the principal use of the lot on <br /> which it is located. <br /> b) Accessory use: a use incident and subordinate to <br /> and on the same lot as a principal use. <br /> 2.02 Apartment <br /> a) Unit: any room or suite of rooms forming a habit- <br /> 3 f <br />
