BOARD OF APPEALS MINUTES February 1, 1989 At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 1989 the Board of Appeals held a meeting at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board members present and acting throughout were: William Hanrahan, Cheryl Hawver, Michael Makunas and Richard Halpern. There were no public hearings. Matilda T. Lizak - Requests a Special Permit under Section 6.3.D.1 and Section 6.3.E.1 of the Land Use Regulations for permission to build office and retail sales space in a C-2 zoning district on property located at 486 Main St. Route 130 (Map 27, Lot 123) Mashpee, MA. (Special Permit granted November 8, 1988 subject to landscape bond estimates to be submitted). Members sitting: W. Hanrahan, M. Makunas, E. Govoni The Board reviewed the landscape estimates received from Mahoney's Two Nursery. Mr. Hanrahan stated that the estimates included plant materials only and did not include planters and labor. Mr. Makunas moved to set the landscaping bond amount at $7,500.00. Mr. Hanrahan • agreed. 'George H. Twomey - (Owner of record: South Cape Industrial Park) Requests a Special Permit under Section 6.3.G of the Land Use Requirements for permission to construct a storage building in an I-1 zoning district on property located at 33 Industrial Drive (Map 88, Lot 33) Mashpee,MA. (Special Permit granted January 11, 1989 subject to Board of Health restrictions). Members sitting: W. Hanrahan, M. Makunas, C. Hawver Members of the Board reviewed the stipulations received in a memo from the Board of Health. Elias A. McQuaid, Agent for the Board of Health, stated that the commercial lot in question is located in a well water recharge area and in an attempt to protect Mashpee's groundwater drinking supply the Board of Health requested prohibition of vehicle oil changes on site, laundering of linens, floor drains, washing of tents and vehicles and the installation of "MDC" type road drains in the parking area. The Board of Health also requested an occupancy limit of 25 employees. Mr. Makunas moved to include the Board of Health restrictions per Mr. McQuaid's memo of 1/18/89 in the Decision for a Special Permit. Mr. Hanrahan seconded. All agreed. Annual Town Meeting and Annual Reports - There was discussion of the job responsibilities of the Board Secretary to the Board of Appeals and the number of hours required to complete the work. Mr. Halpern recommended that the Board present an article for the Annual Town Meeting requesting an additional 20 hours of secretarial time per month.
