1 <br /> T <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 1990 <br /> PRESENT: Selectmen Gottlieb, Hanson, Carter, Executive Secretary <br /> Kevin Harrington, Town Counsel Joseph Reardon, <br /> Administrative Assistant Joyce Mason <br /> GUESTS: Warren Davis, Kevin Kirrane <br /> The meeting convened at 3 : 15 p.m. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> 1 . CENTER FOR HUMAN SERVICES, INC. - Warren Davis of the <br /> Center for Human Services in New Bedford appeared before <br /> the Board to inform the Board of the Center' s intention to <br /> open an outpatient Center. in Mashpee at Madaket Place. Mr. <br /> Davis explained that there is a need for locating the <br /> Center on the Cape due to the high number of clients from <br /> Cape Cod using the New Bedford Center. <br /> Mr . Davis indicated that due to the dispensing of drugs, a <br /> high level of security is required by the Drug Enforcement <br /> Administration at the Center . <br /> Mr. Gottlieb asked whether Mr. Davis would commit to <br /> working with the School Department relative to drug <br /> awareness. Mr. Davis stated that he would be interested in <br /> becoming involved in this type of program. <br /> Mr. Carter indicated that he was opposed to the location of <br /> the Center. Mr. Hanson stated that he would like to digest <br /> the information and meet with the departments involved <br /> (Police) . Mr. Davis was advised that the Board would get <br /> back to him within two weeks. <br /> 2. TAX CLASSIFICATION HEARING - Mr. Hanson moved to postpone <br /> the Tax Classification Hearing to Tuesday, February 20 , <br /> 1990 at 7: 00 p.m. Mr. Carter seconded the motion and Mr. <br /> Gottlieb was in favor. <br />
