BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, MARCH 26, 1990 <br /> PAGE FIVE <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 6. STEP INCREASE - Mrs. Jacobson moved to approve a step <br /> increase for Firefighter Kevin Long to be effective March <br /> 17, 1990. Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in <br /> favor. <br /> 7. CAPE COD COMMISSION APPOINTMENT - Mr. Lawrence moved to <br /> appoint Carol Jacobson as representative to the Cape Cod <br /> Commission on a transitional basis. Mr. Carter seconded <br /> the motion and Mr. Gottlieb was in favor. Mrs . Jacobson <br /> abstained. <br /> 8. DISCUSSION OF ANNUAL/SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANTS - The <br /> Board discussed various articles to be placed on both the <br /> Annual and Special Town Meeting Warrants. <br /> Mrs . Jacobson moved to include article ##3 - "To see if the <br /> Town will request the voters of the Town, acting under the <br /> provisions of Chapter 782 of the Acts of 1981 , as amended, <br /> Proposition 2 1/2 so called, to be submitted to them at a <br /> subsequent election" (ballot date to be set for Saturday, . <br /> May 12 , 1990) . Mr. Carter seconded the motion. All were <br /> in favor. <br /> There was a question relative to the amendment of the <br /> Personnel Administration Plan and the 4% cost of living <br /> increase - through step or cost of living? It was agreed <br /> that the issue would be brought up at a meeting to be held <br /> with the Finance Committee later in the week. <br /> Mr. Carter moved not to include article 11 "To see if the <br /> Town will vote to create the position of Management <br /> Information System Manager" . Mr. Lawrence seconded the <br /> motion. All were in favor. <br /> The Board voted unanimously to include articles 33 , 34 and <br /> 35 on the warrant for the Special Town Meeting - ##33 "To <br /> see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of <br /> Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 148, Section 261 , rules <br /> governing the installation of fire suppression sprinklers <br /> in certain new multi-family dwellings. " <br />
