LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> OCTOBER 3. 1995 <br /> MASHPEE MIDDLE SCHOOL - CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> PRESENT ABSENT AISO PRESENT <br /> Elisa Meunier Ron Roberts Gus Frederick <br /> Maureen Paxton George Costa Kathy Lynch <br /> Terrie Cook, School Committee Liaison Linda Young Robert Tippo <br /> I. Opening - Maureen opened the meeting at the Mashpee Middle School at 6:45 PM. <br /> I I Secretary's Report - <br /> Elisa made a motion to approve the Minutes of September 5. Maureen seconded. <br /> All were in favor. Motion passed. <br /> Ill. Communications - <br /> 1. Pat Riley Letter - Pat Riley sent letter indicating his interest in being member of <br /> the Leisure Services Advisory Council. Also letter will be sent home with kids <br /> about 2 vacancies on committees. <br /> 2. Letter from Dr. DeMoura concerning policy handbook (Draft). <br /> A. 1st paragraph in prologue - removal of the word all programs has been <br /> done. <br /> B. Dr. DeMoura suggested that B2 under "Rules Governing the Use of Facilities by <br /> Leisure Services" rewritten. Committee discussing ways to accommodate this. <br /> Kathy Lynch will mention Falmouth School calendar that includes all activities <br /> and meetings including sports, dances and PTO activities, etc. to lessen confusion. <br /> Maureen asked Bob Tippo how the School activities are planned. He explained <br /> planning was done at principal's meetings. Maureen discussed being liaison with <br /> Leisure Services and Middle School, Elisa liaison with PTO activities. <br /> C. Maureen was concerned with what exactly Leisure Services would be <br /> responsible for concerning the last portion of Dr. DeMoura's letter. The last <br /> portion of Dr. DeMoura's letter concerned reimbursement for expenses. <br /> 3. A. Personnel Department - request for recording secretary. Possibly in budget <br /> for next year. <br /> IV Adiournment - At 7:45 quorum was lost. Elisa made a motion to adjourn. Maureen <br /> seconded and motion carried. <br /> A discussion followed: <br /> Communications - continued <br /> 4. Little league follow-up <br /> A meeting with Bob Whritenour, a rep from Soccer and Little League, Greg Taylor <br /> from DPW, and Leisure Services Committee would be necessary. Greg Taylor was <br /> concerned with field having a chance to grow as well as concerns regarding <br /> the use of Pocknett Field. Bob Whritenour suggested to Gus that Little League send <br /> a letter to Selectmen with their request and mention that Leisure Services <br /> Committee agreed with their requests. <br />
