�`vw.✓ C/cid <br /> LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> NOVEMBER 7, 1995 <br /> MASHPEE MIDDLE SCHOOL - CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> Present: Absent: Also Present: <br /> Maureen Paxton George Costa Gus Frederick <br /> Linda Young Nick Feldman <br /> Elisa Meunier <br /> Ron Roberts <br /> Terre Cook <br /> Pat Riley <br /> I. Opening - Maureen opened the meeting at the Mashpee Middle School Conference <br /> Room at 6:30 PM and welcomed Pat Riley as a new member. It was mentioned that <br /> Elisa Meunier may not be continuing on the Board and that two new women are <br /> Interested. This would bring the board up to seven. <br /> II. Secretary's Report - Elisa made a motion to approve the Minutes of the last <br /> meeting. Terre Cook seconded. Motion carried. <br /> ill. Communications - <br /> 1. Gus discussed that the Quonset Hut needs to be moved from Otis to the Land Fill. <br /> It will be used to recycle items that can be sold. Kids will run the recycling <br /> project. A program will be established for Middle School and High School age kids. <br /> The Quonset Hut needs a foundation. <br /> Maureen Paxton thanked Nick Feldman for including Leisure Services activities in <br /> the K. C. Coombs monthly caldendar. Nick Feldman asked if Leisure Services <br /> updated calendar could be sent over to them by the third week of each month. <br /> IV. Reports - <br /> A. Old Business - <br /> 1. Program Update - Programs will be ending soon for this session. Dance will <br /> have a 4-week program before January. Maureen asked Gus how the cost of <br /> programs was determined. A discussion on cost and financial assistance took <br /> place. <br /> Gus explained that the after school programs were separated into two programs - <br /> one is held at the K. C. Coombs and the other is held at the Middle School. Gus <br /> mentioned new Kids Klub instructors - Linda Eckels, Cara Winkfield, and Kim <br /> Green. <br /> Peg Geary, Cara, and Linda are at the Middle School, Deborah Saldana and Kim are <br /> at the Coombs School. The before school program at the Coombs School is done by <br /> Deborah and Kirsten Neitlich. <br /> Gus mentioned that we are running a wreath making class, CPR, GED, Drivers Ed. <br /> After school intramurals will be starting - floor hockey, volleyball. Maureen and <br /> Gus discussed which grades will be involved in the intramurals. <br /> Nick Feldman mentioned he would like to see some academic programs started. <br />
