6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 24, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing Continuanceā€”Road Conversion: <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public Works was present to discuss the <br /> Trout Brook Road conversion project with the Selectmen and interested <br /> public. <br /> The subdivision is approximately twelve years old. The primary cost of <br /> the construction estimate will improve drainage conditions that show signs <br /> of loss of capacity. Fifteen catch basins for an estimated cost of$37,500 <br /> is included in the estimate of$84,140 set forth by the DPW Director. <br /> Included in the estimate is work related to trench excavation, Cape Cod <br /> burms, paved aprons, loam, seed,and a 1.5"overlay to give a finish course <br /> for the project proposal. <br /> The total project as estimated to include legal/engineering fees and interest <br /> is $93,840. The maximum betterment cost to be borne by 28 property <br /> owners is $3,351. <br /> It was noted that the area residents are required to submit a second petition <br /> to the Town for the road conversion process. The deadline for articles to <br /> be placed on the May Town Meeting warrant is February 14, 2000. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to future Town water and related pipe <br /> installation. Perry Ellis, Water District Commissioner suggested the <br /> residents consider the installation of a dry pipe system to alleviate road <br /> construction disruption. Town water is projected to be connected in the <br /> subject area in approximately one year. Mr. Taylor agreed that it is <br /> advantageous to install a dry pipe system. The residents agreed to further <br /> review this matter with the Water District at this time. <br /> Being no further discussion,the Board motioned to close the Public <br /> Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
