Commission members
Jim Daley and Paul Lumsden were also present for discussion.
An overview and status of the project was reviewed. It was noted that the
Woods Hole Group has completed Step I of the contract to obtain permits
to dredge the Mashpee River although the objective of Step 1, which was
to determine an acceptable means of dredging the river and disposing of
materials has not yet been achieved.
As concluded, it is necessary to further evaluate the sediment in order to
proceed. The characteristic of the sediment will govern the location of the
disposal and associated cost.
