7
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
January 8, 2001
APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS:
Public Comment:
Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works indicated that the Massachusetts
Highway Department would be replacing the Quinaquissett wooden
bridge. The Selectmen will soon be receiving a request to approve the
closure. It was noted that the project is 80% federally funded. The nine-
month construction phase is anticipated to commence in March as weather
dictates. A re-routing program will be considered prior to the construction
of the "School Street" bridge.
In other business, Mr. Taylor notified the Selectmen of a recent car
accident that involved the Town sander. Presently, the department is
seeking an emergency replacement for the disabled vehicle. Insurance
initiatives are being considered at this time.
Dr. Elizabeth Petti brought to the Selectmen's attention;the issue of
increased cable costs and associated cable programs. The matter will be
discussed with the Cable Advisory Committee at their next scheduled
meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
Appointment of Local Inspector:
Selectman Marsters stepped down for the above referenced appointment.
Being no quorum, the Board tabled the issue to their next scheduled
meeting on Tuesday, January 16, 2001.
