11 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 9, 2002 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Land Acquisition—Bufflehead Bay Nominee Trust: (continued) <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to announce and support that the <br /> Department of Environmental Management may acquire an interest <br /> in a parcel of land totaling of approximately 35 acres in the Town of <br /> Mashpee,Buftlehead Bay and waive the 120 day notice period as <br /> required by Section 40I of the General Laws. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Land Acquisition—Wilbur Property <br /> Additional correspondence was received from the Commonwealth of <br /> Massachusetts, acting through its Department of Environmental <br /> Management relative to their interest in approximately 8.7 acres of land <br /> located in Mashpee referred to as the Wilbur Property, Turner's Road, <br /> Mashpee. <br /> The property is also located within the acquisition boundaries of the US <br /> Fish and Wildlife Service's Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge and <br /> Waquoit Bay NERR. The property if acquired would be utilized for open <br /> space and passive recreation. <br /> To comply with requirements,the Selectmen are required to announce that <br /> the Commonwealth is considering the above referenced land acquisition. <br /> The Selectmen were requested to waive the 120 day wait period. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to announce and support that the <br /> Department of Environmental Management may acquire an interest <br /> in a parcel of land totaling of approximately 8.7 acres in Mashpee, <br /> Wilbur property and waive the 120 day notice period as required by <br /> Section 40I of the General Laws. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
