4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 9, 2002 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing—Mike's Service Station: <br /> Selectman Taylor opened the Public Hearing regarding reported violations <br /> at Mike's Service Station, 135 Route 130,Mashpee. Joyce Mason, Town <br /> Administrator read aloud the Public Hearing notice as published. <br /> The Board of Selectmen has received notification that Mike's Service <br /> Station continues to store personal property on Town-owned land. <br /> Correspondence was received from the Building Inspector dated <br /> September 6, 2002 relative to his inspection of the subject property. <br /> It was noted that the Board of Selectmen remitted correspondence to <br /> Michael J. DiMaggio, Manager of Mike's Service Station relative to the <br /> Hearing on this date. Mr. DiMaggio was notified in a memorandum dated <br /> August 26, 2002 that he would be given the opportunity to show cause as <br /> to why the Class II Used Car License of Mike's Service Station should not <br /> be modified, suspended, revoked or cancelled. <br /> Mr. DiMaggio was not present for the Public Hearing process. Mr. <br /> DiMaggio did not respond to the Selectmen's notice regarding 135 Main <br /> Street, Mashpee. <br /> Russ Wheeler, Building Inspector was present to discuss this concern. Mr. <br /> Wheeler indicated that he has observed vehicles and debris located on <br /> Town-owned property. It was noted that the Barnstable Superior Court <br /> had entered a judgment on the Town's behalf. Mr. DiMaggio is <br /> responsible to make progress by removing items from Town property. <br /> Recent photographs observe that the owner has not complied with court <br /> judgment. <br /> Mr. Wheeler recommended that Town Counsel be consulted with respect <br /> to the judgment on the Town's behalf. It was noted that a maximum of <br /> eight vehicles is permitted on the subject property location. <br /> Selectman Taylor opened the Hearing to solicit comment. <br /> Eleanor Thaxton, an abutter to the referenced property related concern <br /> with respect to the number of on site vehicles, the late hours of operation, <br /> and loud music and noise from 135 Main Street. <br />
