5 Board of Selectmen Minutes March 29, 2004 Acceptance of Seasonal Population Report: Correspondence was received from the Town Planner dated March 5, 2004 relative to the estimate population for summer 2004. It was noted that the population estimate is used to establish a quota of seasonal package goods stores licensed under MGL, Chapter 138, Section 15. Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to estimate the resident population of July 10,2004 to be 30,073 as recommended. Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Beach Sticker Rates: Policy for Purchase and Use of Permits/Passes: Mashpee Transfer Station and Beaches: Gus Frederick, Director of Leisure Services was present to discuss the Beach Sticker Rates for the upcoming beach season. A proposal was outlined in his memorandum to the Board dated March 18, 2004. An in- depth discussion followed. Catherine Laurent, Assistant DPW also discussed the policy for the purchase &use of permits and passes associated to the Transfer Station and beaches. Motion made by Selectman Taylor to amend and approve the Beach Sticker Rates as follows: Resident Beach Parking Sticker $20 Non-Resident/Monthly Renters $100 (proof of rental in Mashpee, pass to include license plate number) Weekly Parking Pass $40 (pass to include license plate number for identification purposes) And,Policy for Purchase and Use of Permits/Passes associated to the Transfer Station and beaches amended as follows: Added language: To acknowledge the aboriginal rights stickers and, To Remove language contained in permit application as noted; Mashpee visitor—passes Weekly beach pass Transferable pass (renter would be required to obtain intended pass at Town Hall) Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. r
