4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> • March 15, 2004 <br /> Meeting re-convened: 6:39 p:m. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Gus Frederick, Leisure Services Director read aloud a letter urging the <br /> Board of Selectmen to consider the use of the Carol Jacobson Senior <br /> Center as a future multi-use facility for the benefit of the Town of <br /> Mashpee. Recommendations for use of the building include a Leisure <br /> Services recreation building, housing for the growing Kids Klub pre- <br /> school program and servicing the need for Human Services office space. <br /> Public Hearing Continued VFW Liquor License: <br /> Selectman Leveille stepped down for the above referenced agenda topic. <br /> Selectman Green presided and opened the Public Hearing as continued to <br /> consider the application of Mashpee Veterans of Foreign War, Inc., d/b/a <br /> Mashpee Memorial VFW Post 5489 for a Veterans Club Annual All <br /> Alcohol License. <br /> It was noted that the Public Hearing was continued to give the VFW Post <br /> adequate time to address pending matters relative to approval of the <br /> license application. Necessary documentation included; a vote of the <br /> Board of Director appointing Varden Kelley as Manager, a copy of the <br /> signed lease for premises, a check in the amount of$200 payable to the <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and a check in the amount of$1700 <br /> payable to the Town ofMashpee. <br /> Ted Theis, representing the VFW notified the Office of the Board of <br /> Selectmen on March 11`h, 2004 that the VFW is unable to move forward <br /> with the application process at this time. <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br />
