May 3, 2004 <br /> Present: Selectman Leveille, Selectman Green, Selectman Cahalane, <br /> Selectman Marsters, Selectman Taylor <br /> Town Administrator Joyce Mason <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Leveille at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Quashnet School <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> DPW Director—Route 130 Update: <br /> Gregory Taylor, Director of Public Works was present to update <br /> the Selectmen on the upcoming paving project on Route 130. The road <br /> paving project is scheduled to commence on May 11I'and is anticipated <br /> to be completed prior to Memorial Day. Message boards will be installed <br /> to announce the intended dates of construction and to request motorists to <br /> seek alternates routes. <br /> The Selectmen requested that businesses on Echo Road be informed of the <br /> upcoming road construction project. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Town Meeting Warrant—Discussions of Motions: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with Town Counsel, Patrick Costello prior to <br /> the Annual Town Meeting for the purpose of reviewing articles pertaining <br /> to the warrant. The Town Accountant and Town Moderator were in <br /> attendance. <br /> Policy re: Petition Articles: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Green to set policy that would require all <br /> petition articles to contain motions to be submitted to the Office of the <br /> Town Administrator in writing upon article submission. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
